By creating an account or using the Fitabo Connect website or Android application, you agree to follow these terms and applicable law.
Section 01
The service
Fitabo Connect is a FITABO initiative operated by SOTRANE Publishers Limited. It provides a marketplace for literary, publishing, creative and related professional services.
It also provides a Digital Library through which authorised books may be listed, purchased and read. Features may be introduced, changed, suspended or withdrawn as the platform develops.
Section 02
Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information, protect your sign-in details and use only an account you are authorised to control. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account until suspected unauthorised access is reported.
You must be legally able to enter the transactions you request or accept. A parent, guardian, school or organisation must supervise an account used on behalf of a person who cannot independently enter a binding arrangement.
Fitabo Connect may request identity, professional or contact verification. False, stolen, altered or misleading information may lead to rejection, restriction or removal of the account.
Section 03
Buyers and Service Providers
Buyers are responsible for giving clear requirements, reviewing offers, providing lawful source material and responding within reasonable project timelines.
Service Providers are responsible for accurately describing their skills, prices, availability and experience. They must deliver work with reasonable care, respect agreed requirements and avoid claiming qualifications or ownership they do not have.
A service agreement is formed between the buyer and Service Provider when they accept the relevant scope, price, delivery expectations and other project conditions. Fitabo Connect supplies the platform and administrative support but does not become the author, designer, editor, printer or other professional carrying out the work.
Section 04
Payments and transaction verification
Fitabo Connect currently uses manual transaction verification for supported purchases. A transaction reference, screenshot or payment claim does not by itself prove payment or unlock a Digital Library item. Access is granted only after authorised verification.
Until a regulated production payment provider is integrated and announced, Fitabo Connect does not promise automatic card processing, automatic settlement, escrow or guaranteed payment protection. Users must follow the payment instructions shown for the relevant transaction and keep their own proof.
Do not place passwords, PINs, one-time codes or full payment-card credentials in messages, project files or support conversations.
Section 05
Cancellations, refunds and disputes
Cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the service stage, delivered work, transaction method, applicable listing conditions and any agreement between the parties. Digital content that has already been made accessible may be subject to different refund limitations where permitted by law.
Users should first communicate clearly through the platform. Fitabo Connect may review messages, files, delivery records, payment evidence and other relevant records when assisting with a complaint. Administrative assistance does not guarantee a particular outcome and does not replace rights available under applicable law.
Section 06
Digital Library licence
Buying or receiving access to a Digital Library book gives the authorised account a limited, personal, non-transferable right to read that item through Fitabo Connect. It does not transfer copyright or ownership of the book.
Users must not redistribute, resell, publicly upload, systematically capture, remove watermarks from, reverse engineer or attempt to obtain the protected source file. Account, device and reading-session controls may be used to protect authors, publishers and lawful readers.
Ordinary copying, printing, saving, screenshots and screen recording may be technically restricted. These controls do not create a guarantee that every form of unauthorised capture is impossible.
Section 07
User content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of manuscripts, artwork, portfolios, project files and other material you lawfully own. You give Fitabo Connect the limited permission needed to store, display, transmit, process and protect that material for operation of the requested service.
You must have the necessary rights and permissions for anything you upload. Do not submit pirated books, confidential material you are not authorised to share, unlawful content or material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
Section 08
Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, impersonation, false reviews or misleading professional claims.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination or abusive communication.
- Uploading malware, attempting unauthorised access or interfering with platform security.
- Using another person's identity document, account, payment evidence or purchased book access.
- Bypassing marketplace, verification, payment or Digital Library controls.
- Using the service for unlawful goods, services, content or transactions.
- Collecting or misusing another member's personal information.
Section 09
Reviews and marketplace information
Reviews must reflect genuine experience and must not be bought, fabricated or used for retaliation. Fitabo Connect may moderate or remove content that is unlawful, irrelevant, deceptive, unsafe or inconsistent with these terms.
Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee of future performance, character or outcome.
Section 10
Suspension and termination
Fitabo Connect may restrict, suspend or close accounts to protect users, investigate suspected misconduct, respond to legal requirements, prevent fraud or enforce these terms.
Where appropriate, users may be asked to resolve active projects, payments, withdrawals, complaints or content-access matters before closure. Users may request account deletion through the Account Deletion page.
Section 11
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep Fitabo Connect secure and available, but internet services may experience maintenance, outages, third-party failures, data delays or device incompatibility. Users should keep independent copies of important source files and business records.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Fitabo Connect is not responsible for indirect loss, lost opportunity or losses caused by another user's unlawful conduct, inaccurate claims or failure to perform. Nothing in these terms removes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Section 12
Privacy
Personal information is handled according to the Privacy Policy.
Users must not use information obtained through Fitabo Connect for unrelated marketing, harassment, identity misuse or unauthorised disclosure.
Section 13
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when services, payment methods, legal requirements or security controls change. The updated date will be shown above.
Continued use after an effective update means the revised terms apply to later use, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement already governing an active transaction.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Zambia, without removing mandatory rights available to a user under applicable law.
